A Three Days' Journey Workshop

Saturday, November 14 · 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM The Chapel

Pharaoh never minded Israel worshiping God. He just wanted them to do it in Egypt. “Go, sacrifice to your God in the land.” “Only you shall not go very far away.” Again and again, Pharaoh offered a faith that stayed close, stayed comfortable, and stayed under his control. And again and again, God’s answer through Moses was the same: three days’ journey into the wilderness, far enough to worship the LORD as He commands. Friends, that negotiation is still happening. Many of us love the Lord sincerely, and yet the values, appetites, and false gods of our culture have quietly moved into our worship, our calendars, and our life together as the church. We haven’t left Egypt. We’ve just learned to worship God there. Join Pastor Chris Carter for a one-day renewal workshop built around A Three Days’ Journey: The Distance Between Egypt and Glory, Book One of the Holy Defiance series. Together we will:

  • Walk through the Exodus pattern of God judging the false gods of Egypt, and His call in Revelation to “come out of her, my people”
  • Name the modern “gods” of materialism, entertainment, comfort, and cultural power that compete for our worship
  • Experience a live sample of the small group Bible study, with leader resources for classes, groups, and families
  • Receive the Church Renewal & Refocusing Challenge, a practical path for congregations ready to walk the whole three days together

This is a Lay Renewal-style day, with honest teaching, table conversation, testimony, worship, and prayer. It is for pastors, Sunday school teachers, small group leaders, and every believer who senses there has to be more to following Jesus than Sunday morning. Don’t settle for close enough. Come ask for the whole three days.
